Wylie Elite Steals the Show!!
Kristy Von Runnen
Big time success....2 weekends in a row! You have heard of athletes that "peak" in their performance and today was our day! Wylie Elite stole the show!
Tiny Elite~ Texas State Champs 1st Place
Mini Elite~ Texas State Champs 1st Place and Grand Champions Level1
Junior Elite~ Texas State Champs 1st Place and Grand Champions Level 2
Senior Elite~ 3rd place*
*The Senior team actually won their division but we had an illegal dismount and lost a full point. They know they are Champions in their hearts.
I was so proud of each of our teams! They really blew away not only us, but left the crowd and judges stunned:)
So...San Antonio...here we come! Watch out because we are ready and hungry! Go Elite!

Movin and Groovin!!
Kristy Von Runnen
Well...it has been a while since I blogged! We have been movin and groovin
at Wylie Elite. I tell you what....I have had so many nights when
I leave the gym and get in my car and feel so fired up and blessed.
We
had a choreographer come in from LA and boy did he crank out some incredible
stuff! I am soo pumped for competition season. We have
been busy working skills and fine tuning our routines. Every team
has exceeded my expectations so far. We have set the bench mark high
this year and each team is on it's way to blowing that out of the water. We
are so proud of each of our athletes and can't wait to show them off at our first
competition November 8th. Watch out All-Star Industry...here WE come!!!

New Season
Kristy Von Runnen
I can't tell you how thrilled I am with the new athletes God has brought to us. WOW! What
an amazing group of young people!
We started our new
season this past Sunday and every team, Tiny's all the way through our Senior
team, have amazing potential. Our girls truly shine inside and out
and their energy is contagious. All of our teams abilities are already
quite impressive. There is no telling what we will look like in 3
months when we learn our routines. Way to go girls!!!
I
am also thrilled with the two new coaches we've added to the WE family. Kristel
Hanlon will be helping with the Senior team. Kristel is an amazing
person and worked with NCA for years at both the High School and Collegiate level.
We also would like to welcome Cenie Royal who is going to be helping coach our
Tiny team. Cenie is currently a VP for ACA and also worked for NCA
for lots of years before that. We are grateful and blessed to have
these women working with our athletes!!
Keep up the GREAT work everyone! :)
Coach
Kristy

Did you know??
Kristy Von Runnen
Did you know that your core, or stomach, is the most important muscle when it comes to tumbling and jumping?? If you have weak stomach muscles, you will find it hard to make your body do what it needs to do to have strong tumbling skills and pretty jumps!! Here are some exercises for you to do at home to strengthen your core. Remember...a little bit of effort makes HUGE differences in your skills!
- Crunches~ Do 3 sets of 25 crunches a day making sure your focal point is up to the ceiling and that only your shoulder blades lift off of the floor.
- Planks~ Lay face down on the floor. Prop yourself up in a flat position using only your elbows and your toes. Hold this flat position for 30 seconds then rest for 15 seconds. Repeat to a total of 3 times.
- Leg Lifts~ Hold on to something like the top of a kitchen chair or something of that height with on hand to the side. Steadily lift left leg level to your waist and then control it back down and repeat 10 times. Then turn and repeat on the right side. This builds core and hip flexers which are important in jumps!
- Throw Downs~ Lay on your back and have a partner stand above you, facing your feet, putting your head between their feet. Grap onto their ankles for support and lift both of your feet up to them. Have your partner throw down your feet to the ground but you stop them at the very bottom so that they do not touch the ground. Your partner can also throw them over to the left and right so that it works our obliques.
Have a great week working your core :)
